How we choose products
What has to be true before a ring, collection or brand appears on this site.

What we check for every brand
- Clear stone disclosure. Listings must say whether a stone is natural, lab-grown, moissanite or a lab-created gem, and whether it is treated.
- Published policies. Returns, resizing and warranty terms must be available in writing before purchase.
- Specification detail. Metal and karat, stone type and shape, and for diamonds, report availability.
- Design that holds up. Settings that plausibly protect the stone for the kind of wear the design implies.
- A reason to be here. Something distinctive, such as a style, a stone option or a policy, that a reader could not find just as easily anywhere else.
What we check for each ring or collection
- Whether the stone's hardness suits daily wear, or whether we need to flag it as a careful-wear choice.
- Whether points, corners and small accent stones are protected.
- Whether it fits the topic of the page it appears on, not merely the keyword.
What we do not do
- We do not assign numerical scores or star ratings. We have not found a way to do that transparently without hands-on testing at scale, so we explain trade-offs in words instead.
- We do not show prices unless we have checked them ourselves, and we always show when.
- We do not accept payment for inclusion, ranking or wording.
How affiliate links fit in
Selection comes first. If a brand we want to include has an affiliate program we have joined, links to it may earn us a commission; if not, we link anyway. See the affiliate disclosure.
Keeping it current
Brand facts carry the date we last checked them. If a policy changes or a collection disappears, we update or remove it. Readers and brands can report changes through the contact page.
